A revival of the popular '60s TV comedy series "The Addams Family" has them preparing for Halloween in their own inimitable way. Halloween with the New Addams Family was a 1977 NBC TV-movie. This TV-movie has John Astin, Carolyn Jones, Jackie Coogan, Ted Cassidy, Lisa Loring, and Ken Weatherwax reprising their roles from the 1960s series The Addams Family. Blossom Rock was ill at the time of the production causing her role of Grandmama to be portrayed by Jane Rose.

Sam Hilliard, a truant officer, shows up at the Addams family home, due to the fact that Pugsley and Wednesday are not attending school. Soon he discovers he's dealing with no typical everyday family.

Parks Commissioner Fiske visits the Addams house seeking contributions for expansion of the city zoo. Gomez believes visiting Cousin Itt - all hairy and gibbering four feet tall of him - would be perfect as the zoo's new curator. He has the two meet, but Commissioner Fisk misunderstands the intent and mistakes Itt for a new exotic animal attraction whom he has hauled away in chains when the others aren't looking. When the family finds out what's happened, Uncle Fester is ready to administer retribution the Addams way - with a bullet from behind.

A former truant officer named Sam Hilliard heads a private school where Wednesday and Pugsley are enrolled. When Hilliard breaks under the strain of dealing with the Addams children, Gomez buys the school.

A doctor is summoned to examine Kitty Kat, the ailing lion pet of the Addams Family. Morticia soon decides that it is the cringing doctor who needs help, so human members of the family feign illnesses to build his confidence.

Morticia's concern that Lurch is overworked leads Gomez to the operating table to assemble a custom-built secondary butler. Lurch lets the robot do all the work and then begins to feel that he isn't needed anymore.

After Uncle Fester's flame thrower destroys the family's stuffed bear, insurance executive Hensen tries to weasel out of the policy.

Morticia's school chum Trivia visits. Lurch is obviously smitten by her, but Trivia's interest is entirely in show business. Moticia decides to change Trivia's mind by making Lurch more exciting than show biz.
