Under the skilled hands of the craftsmen, even the most worn-out shoes can be polished to a shine in just 10 minutes. The reasons why men obsess over the shine of their shoes vary. There are salesmen who want to make a good impression on clients by dressing stylishly, men who bring in shoes given to them as gifts by their wives, and those who believe that shoes are a “mirror reflecting a man's pride.” A three-day exploration of the lives of men today, viewed from the soles of their shoes.
