As Sultan Mehmed prepares for the great siege, he aims to breach the walls and enter the Golden Horn. He assigns critical responsibilities to his trusted men and plans who will sit on the throne during his absence. He must appoint someone to the Rumelia Beylerbeyship after Hamza is wounded, with Çandarlı Halil Pasha and Zağanos Pasha's input. Saltuk and Bali have important tasks until Hamza returns. In the harem, a surprise occurs during Beyazıd's journey to Manisa. Meanwhile, Constantine works on creating grejuva fire against the Turks, and Giustiniani seeks to expose Turkish spies in Constantinople, including suspicions about Mustafa. Giustiniani holds Notaras responsible for Cardinal Isodor's death, and the Emperor must respond. Demetrios plans against Hamza, and there are surprises in the mission to bring Giustiniani and those with the grejuva secret to the city.
