Biskup, zmobilizowany przez Michałową, doprowadza do zwolnienia z aresztu proboszcza i Kusego. Lucy wykorzystuje swoje amerykańskie pochodzenie i uczy współwięźniarki angielskiego. Kiedy biskup dowozi proboszcza do Wilkowyj, zaskoczony widzi, że wszyscy witają księdza jak bohatera. Wieś schodzi do podziemia. Osoby zagrożone aresztowaniem zostają ukryte, a TV Wilkowyje nadaje szyfrowane komunikaty o policjantach, usiłujących wręczać kolejne wezwania. Ławeczka jest pod wrażeniem wyczynu księdza. Późną nocą ekipa bohaterów wyrusza traktorem do Radzynia, aby uwolnić Lucy.
