They also push him to tell her he likes her during party, and ask for a kiss as return gift. Rajat realizes his friends pranked him when he becomes laughing stock of party.

Rajat comes back from Prerna's party, and finds his father waiting for him. DSC dresses him down, doubting if he will ever be able to repay doodh ka karz. Rajat is shaken by the experience and pulls back from falling in love, but his friends get him back on track, and push him to kiss Prerna to seal their love.

Rajat plans to propose to Prerna but she goes to mussoorie as her nani is sick. Rajat gets invited to Chaya's party, where he witnesses chaya and prashant fight over him not clearing UPSC.

Rajat writes 'prerna gupta bewafa hai' on some currency notes and distributes them craftily in the campus. This leads to confrontation between Prerna and Rajat. Prashant intervenes and makes Rajat realize that he has to trust Prerna if he loves her. Rajat apologises and confesses his love and they end up kissing for the first time. Rajat decides to teach Ritesh a lesson for lying.

Rajat and friends are unrepentant in the lock-up, thinking they will get bailed out like last time, and that they were right in teaching that snake Ritesh a lesson. DSC is shocked to see Rajat defending his actions. DSC blames Shashank and treats his father SK with contempt. Yuvan's brother tries to bribe the police and get the boys out but Ritesh's father is a big lawyer.

Shashank is angry with Rajat because DSC discriminated agaisnt SK & Shashank. Even though shashank dislikes his own father but he hates discrimination even more. Shashank is punishing Rajat by going close to Prerna. He takes her to a restaurant and feeds her with his hand. Rajat finds out Shashank has a secret.

Rajat is dating Prerna but feels that she gives more time to friends than to him, although he does everything she asks him to, like participating in science fest, for which, he is making an original invention; a love galvanomter or a love testing machine. Rajat tells his friends that they misjudged Ritesh. He can't be all that bad if he took back the case.

Rajat goes drunk to Chaya's house and tries to kiss her, in a fit of brokenness. Chaya puts him down gently. He fights with her when he finds out that she's leaving Lucknow and Prashant, as she is done with that relationship. Rajat then visits Prashant, discovers that he is depressed, and leaving his hostel room to move somewhere else. Rajat is convinced that Prerna doesn’t love him.

Rajat is heartbroken and plans to expose Prerna in front of everybody. He feels detached even from his friends and stays alone most of the time. Right before the exams, Rajat prepares chits and during the exam, puts them in Prerna’s bag. The letter gets caught for cheating in the exam and Shashank suspects Rajat for framing Prerna. He goes after Rajat and questions him.

Before leaving, he goes to meet Prashant, who looks shattered. The next day, as Rajat is about to leave for Delhi, he receives a phone call from his father, who informs him that Prashant has committed suicide in his room.
