

Postcards from Buster
Postcards from Buster is a children's television series for children aged 6–12, containing both animation and live-action that originally aired on Public Broadcasting Service. It is a spin-off of the Arthur cartoon series. The show stars Arthur's best friend, 8-year-old rabbit Buster Baxter. Inspired by a 2003 episode of Arthur entitled "Postcards from Buster", the television series was produced by Cinar and Marc Brown Studios. It first aired October 11, 2004, on PBS Kids Go!. Buster's interests include eating anything, reading comic books, and playing video games. Buster's personality is that of a fairly intelligent and curious child. He also believes that extraterrestrials are real. Buster's parents are divorced; in this series, Buster is seen with his father, Bo Baxter.

Arthur's family has set up a trip to the big apple (New York City) they are taking Buster along so Buster can spend time with his dad. So when they get there (NYC) Busters dad is waiting there for Buster. So the next day Arthur ,Busters Dad & Buster aer planing to go to the Point to meet a band that Busters dad is planning on flying but on there way the Point they get lost all over New York. They visited many shops and they walk all over China Town and the Bronx. But later they find there way. Meanwhile DW is so excited about a broadway show and she wants to save money because she got the feeling that the show cost alot. So she starts to save money and other things but she got to the play just fine. But before thay went to the show they had tea in a nice hotel and DW imagned of living at the hotel.

Luckily, Carlos and Mora introduce him to fiddlers Randy and Rossi, and clogger Catherine, and the report on fiddling, square dancing and traditional Old Timey music gets an "A."

He assembles them into his very own League of Champions and gets a local church leader to help out with a puppet villain. Along the way, he makes a surprising discovery as to who exactly was responsible for one of the cheesy songs in the awful Bionic Bunny film.

He's interesting in all the new traditions he's learning about, but is embarrassed at not being able to understand what people are saying in Spanish. He discovers that taking a little time to do some learning can help him to fit in better.

They quickly get him interested in their hobby of building and riding low-rider bikes. Before long, he's fantasizing about what it would be like to have his very own low-rider.

When a magazine quiz helps Francine discover that her lifestyle is perfect for the hustle and bustle of New York, she asks Buster to get her as much information as he can when he pays a visit there. Buster meets up with a Jewish family who he hopes can be a big help, since Francine is Jewish. He learns about high-rising apartments and rising taxis, but also learns that aside from prayer services, the school that his new friends attend is a lot like his own. As a girl named Mattie helps him to learn about Hebrew and Jewish traditions, he urges her to go slow, worried that Francine might be way behind. Francine is a bit embarrassed when she finds out about this because she knows plenty of Hebrew and is largely up-to-date on her Jewish traditions. She also sets Buster straight on why she eats things like cheeseburgers, explaining that the family Buster is visiting practices strict Orthodox Judaism, while her family practices a more relaxed form. Still, she's curious about how that family celebrates the Jewish holiday Shabbas and is surprised to learn that they completely abstain from using any electricity for an entire day. Overall, it's a great learning experience for both Francine and Buster.

Later, they make up and Buster decides to help her with a food column she has to do for the newspaper. He researches both Cuban and Greek food and becomes an amateur reporter. Along the way, he meets a new friend and learns about bilingual schools and other interesting topics.

He learns all about the traditional Chinese New Year's meal and the big parade held in San Francisco.

Arthur is having fun with his family at the beach, while Buster is up in snowy, cold Canada. Although at first he doesn't know how he's going to do a spring break video in these conditions, he soon finds that Iqaluit, Canada has its own special spring traditions. After gearing up properly for the cold and convincing Arthur that these Canadian traditions are as much a part of spring break as the beach, Arthur and Buster have the perfect set-up for their video.

He's been reading some books about film-making and has taken the advice of one to heart --- that all he needs is a big star and the money will follow. Soon, however, he finds that the ideas about heroism from another book may come in handy when meets some of Sue Ellen's friends who are majorly into skateboarding. He decides to make them the stars of his film and even has a go at skateboarding himself.

In the "infamous banned" episode of Postcards from Buster, Buster pays a visit to Sidell, Vermont during the season called "sugartime." He learns that this a season of maple syrup and mud. He spends some time at the home of a photographer his Mom once worked with and her partner (a lesbian couple) and learned that they're both Moms to their kids. Later, he goes out shopping for a bonfire. He samples Vermont maple syrup and learns about the milking of cows. He also tries his hardest to come up with the perfect Mother's Day gift for his Mom.

This special featured interstitial postcard segments from Buster, segments with kids from the show Zoom, and a small additional factoid regarding Arthur and Buster. At the end of the special, a secret password for a new game on the official PBS Kids Arthur website was revealed.

Buster, Bo and Los Viajeros pay a visit to Hawaii's Big Island, where Buster finds himself immersed in Hawaiian culture. He learns about volcanoes, fishing, hula-dancing and even gets to swim with dolphins. Upon arriving, he meets up with Mykala, a girl who has her own TV show titled Fishing Tip Today. She and Buster decide to get together with her friend Pono and create a program called the Mykala Pono Buster Hawaii TV Show. Along the way, Buster finds that he is more comfortable behind the camera than he is trying to do reporting in front of it. When he pays a visit to Volcanoes National Park, Buster thoughtlessly removes a rock as a present for Brain. He doesn't realize that removing such items are strictly forbidden, but when he finally does, he worries about having attracted the wrath of the Hawaiian Goddess of Fire, Pele. He decides he's willing to make a sacrifice if it will help to set things right. He also learns, however, that Pele is considered to be a creator, not a destructive force.

When Los Viajeros perform in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Buster gets to visit his Dad's favorite vacation spot --- Mackinac Island. Bo is pleased at the idea of being able revisit some old favorites, such as the Grand Hotel and the island's several fudge shops, but the place seems more like a ghost-town then a bustling city. It turns out that since its' not tourist season, most of the major attractions have closed up for the winter. Buster is initially disappointed, but he and Bo are soon taken in by the family of a boy named Lou Clark. It turns out that Lou and his friends are amateur film-makers. Buster learns that they school they attend is very small --- it serves grades K-12, but only has 67 students, with a combined 2nd and 3rd grade class that has only eight kids. Together with one of Lou's friends, Scott, the group puts together a movie that recalls the War of 1812. Buster is bummed about being assigned the position of second camera, but doesn't know that they have a surprise for him. Buster also worries that his friends at home are getting tired of his video postcards when a dropped cell-phone connection causes him to misunderstanad something said by Arthur.

When Buster learns that <a href="http://www.tv.com/arthur/the-curse-of-the-grebes---arthur-changes-gears/episode/694625/summary.html">Damon and Bateria</a>, two of his favorite players on the Elwood City Grebes, have been traded, he's shocked. Having learned a hard lesson that sometimes players that were thought to be loyal will go elsewhere for more money, he scouts the Dominican Republic at Harry's urging for new talent. Los Viajeros happened to be going on a trip there. He stays at the house of Patrizia and her daughter Patty, who he learns is a concert pianist and also talented at soccer. With her assitance, Buster helps Los Viajeros to develop an album of merengue music (a style native to the Dominican Republic) while also meeting up with a new friend to watch baseball. He discovers some amazing local talent and also finds someone he never expected --- a player from the Elwood City Grebes!
