Roberto, Malthus and Aramel arrive in Belo Horizonte. Hilda wins the beauty pageant. Hilda and Juca get engaged, but she gives up on the wedding and runs away.

Hilda stays at the brothel and Maria Tomba-Homem advises her to return home. Everyone comments on Hilda's decision. Roberto receives bad news and returns to Santana dos Ferros.

The men line up at the door of Hilda's room. Loló asks Friar Malthus to take leadership of the group in favor of morals and good customs. Roberto manages to interview Hilda.

Roberto interviews Tonico Mendes. Hilda breaks up a fight between Thin Waist and Maria Man-Killer. Malthus decides to exorcise Hilda and goes to Santana dos Ferros to prepare.

Hilda suffers from Dorinha's rejection. Friar Malthus wonders if he will be able to perform a miracle on Hilda. Hilda decides to face the crowd and confronts Loló, Lucianara and Malthus.

Hilda goes to the radio to ask for her lost shoe to be returned to her. Friar Malthus is confused by his feelings and decides to return the shoe to Hilda personally.

Hilda catches everyone's attention at the football stadium. Dona Neném tells Malthus stories about her childhood. Friar Malthus is distressed at not being able to return Hilda's shoe.

Aramel starts working for Tonico Mendes. Friar Malthus decides to leave the convent and Father Nelson convinces him not to give up.

Zora says she is in love with Zico. Malthus throws away Hilda's shoe. Roberto hears Juca's version of why Hilda gave up on the wedding.

Friar Malthus says in a radio interview that he is willing to talk to Hilda so that she accepts God and she is upset.

Aramel confirms to Roberto that he is working with Tonico Mendes. A big problem takes place in front of the City Council.

Friar Malthus tells Loló that he will no longer participate in the campaign against the Bohemian zone.

Father Nelson discovers that Friar Malthus kept Hilda's shoe. Ciana returns to Santana dos Ferros. Madame Janete tells Hilda that the man of her destiny is Malthus.

Hilda cries when she learns that Friar Malthus has left. Roberto goes to Hilda's parents' house to talk about her. Juca goes to the brothel to find Hilda, but she refuses to sleep with him.

Roberto is dismissed from the newspaper. Friar Malthus goes to the bohemian zone and stares at Hilda's bedroom window from afar. Hilda goes to the convent and tells Malthus that she loves him.

Despite loving Hilda, Friar Malthus refuses her marriage proposal. Father Nelson is radical about Malthus' love and tells João Dindim that he deserves to go to hell.

Jun 24, 1998

Father Nelson gives Friar Malthus an ultimatum. Aramel accepts MC's proposal to meet Gabriela. The communists gather and are repressed by the police.

Jun 25, 1998

Friar Malthus returns home and tells his mother that he kissed a woman. Hilda decides to meet Malthus in Santana dos Ferros. Father Nelson reveals to Dona Neném that Hilda seduced Malthus.

Neném asks Hilda to leave the saint in peace. Hilda arrives in Santana dos Ferros and goes to Malthus's house, who refuses to receive her. Hilda and Malthus kiss in front of the large crucifix.

Friar Malthus asks God for forgiveness, and Hilda says he has no vocation for the priesthood. Gabriela praises Aramel and sparks the young man's interest. Hilda reveals on the radio that she is getting married.

Hilda seeks out Madame Janete to find out about her future husband. Loló discovers that her granddaughter is pregnant and thinks that the child is Bonfim's, who suffers an attack and is shot.

Loló and Ventura make it seem like their daughter is pregnant. Aramel gives up on being an MC and reveals that he is not who Gabriela thinks he is. Roberto and Bela B. reconcile and decide to get married.

Aramel refuses to take Gabriela to Tonico Mendes. Gabriela and Aramel escape and receive help from Friar Malthus. Loló discovers that Roberto is a communist and kicks him out of her house.

Colonel João Filogônio goes to the Maravilhoso Hotel to ask Hilda to marry him. Vitinho recognizes Leonor in the crowd in the bohemian area. The two colonels compete for Hilda's attention.

Jul 09, 1998

Hilda and Malthus meet by chance, argue and kiss. Father Nelson once again reaffirms that to find God, Friar Malthus needs to control his impulses for Hilda.

João Goulart is about to be the new president, precisely at a time of revolution. In disguise, Friar Malthus goes to Hilda's room and the two spend the night together.

Gabriela tells Aramel that she wants to return to Belo Horizonte and have a child with Tonico Mendes. Everyone awaits Hilda's decision on which colonel she will marry.

Hilda says that she has already chosen her future husband and that it won't be one of the colonels. Aramel tells MC Gabriela's plans. Very well dressed, Gabriela goes to look for her friend.

Aramel leaves for Hollywood promising to return rich. Roberto tries to warn Malthus about the possibility that Hilda has given up on the friar. Tonico Mendes keeps Gabriela trapped at home.

Roberto becomes a famous reporter because of his photography. The saints of Santana ask Father Geraldo to change sacristan and he refuses. Aramel will star in a film in Hollywood.

Jul 22, 1998

Hilda tells journalists that she will leave the bohemian area on March 31st. Santana dos Ferros is isolated because of a plague.

Jul 23, 1998

Malthus thinks about leaving with his beloved, but is detained and is unable to go to the meeting. Hilda is devastated amid the confusion between communists and the military.
