Frog must appear before a coronial inquest after he disregards proper procedure to lead the team into an unstable partially collapsed building in an attempt to rescue a trapped child. The effort nearly costs Georgia her life and the child ultimately dies in hospital, initiating a fierce debate amongst the squad. Frog and Kathy respond to a home where a man has murdered his wife and three children. Finding the husband with a gun in his hands, Frog passively stands by waiting for him to finish the job by taking his own life. Frog descends into a ravine to rescue an injured boy.

The squad welcomes a new member, Constable Brian Morley. With the of Sydney excited over the Grand Final football match, Mickey, Georgia, and Brian attend an MVA which is complicated by unknown hazardous chemicals, a Drug Squad surveillance operation, and a man trapped in a truck who cheerfully refuses to be rescued. Angel and Kathy respond to the scene of a party where a drunken reveller has fallen into an abandoned underground shelter.

Kathy refuses to deal with her emotions when tragedy strikes her family. After Mickey scales an apartment building to rescue a woman locked out on her balcony, he, Georgia and Kathy attend the scene of a fatal car accident caused by a drunk driver. Angel has to deal with his brother Con, who is getting into increasing trouble. Kathy descends in to a silo to rescue a worker buried up to his chest in sugar.

After two youths crash a stolen plane in the National Park requiring rescue, Mickey finds himself being sued for negligence by the owner of the plane — the father of one of the kids. With a legal battle looming, Mickey receives help from the one man he would least expect it from.

The squad is called on to save an artist who is obsessed with his wife's "affairs" and who has decided to kill both himself and his family. Mickey agrees to be Angel's best man but their close relationship becomes an obstacle for Angel in his relationship with Helena. A groom learns the benefits of a ball and chain while suspended from a bridge.

Nipper voices his doubts that Brian will ever become an intergrated member of the squad. He also has to deal with harrassment from a recently released criminal he arrested years ago who bears a grudge. Angel and Helena tie the knot.

Angel becomes convinced that Helena is having an affair and begins losing control, both at home and at work. Inspector Adams finds a pamphlet on unplanned pregnancy as well as a pregnancy test in Sharyn's desk. Teenage lovers threaten to jump off the Harbour Bridge. Georgia and David discuss having children.

Mickey and ambulance officer Tricia Mellick receive public accolades and media attention after being involved in a high profile rescue. Georgia questions her future with the police after she has a close call on a rescue. Mickey finally admits to himself his feelings about Georgia just as she decides to make a commitment to David.

Tensions between Mickey and Georgia build as her marriage to David draws near. Mickey and Angel rescue a superhero from a tight situation. The squad is called out to help rescuea group of archeologists who have been trapped in a flooding cave system. During the search, Mickey is swept away in the rising flood waters.

Angel and Mickey rescue a man being chased by two police officers. When the man turns up dead 43 minutes later, they suspect the cops.

Mickey father suffers a heart attack. Mickey negotiates with bank robbers to free hostages during a bank robbery.

Brian bonds with a traumatised woman after they are both trapped in a collapsed parking structure. There's conflict at the base when Brian decides he can no longer take the morbid on the job humour of Angel and Mickey and considers his future in Rescue.

May 4, 1995

Nipper find's his Police shirt somewhat pink because his daughter put her red top in the wash at the last minute. Nipper walks around work with his jumper on despite the warm weather. Later on that day Rescue gets a call about a siege at a bank in Chatswood, one cop dead and at least ten hostages. The gunman is desperate for drugs. A young unexperienced journalist crosses the press line and begins snooping around. Nipper's three daughters ring him at work, as mum hasn't picked them up from ballet. The kid's end up at the rescue head quarters. Mickey is given the task of taking the gunman in some methadone, the hostage there to collect in Nippers wife Michelle. When Nipper is told he heads straight to the scene but doesn't tell the children. It is revealed that the gunman has a TV inside the bank as the young reporter reveals in a special bulletin against a news blackout that a Police Rescue officer's wife is one of the hostages after he overheard a conversation by Rescue squad members.

May 11, 1995

Mickey and Nipper help the survivors of a bus crash. Mickey is determined to prove the bus driver is not at fault and Nipper decides to foster a boy orphaned in the crash.

May 18, 1995

In search of a change, Georgia applies for Nipper's job. To Georgia's surprise she doesn't get it. Instead someone from head office gets the job. Sergeant Webb arrives in Rescue and quickly lays down the law with a series of new rules and procedures. As he sstruggles to earn the respect of the squad, Webb must deal with personal demons and professional problems. Angel shows signs of stress, both on and off the job. A series of high platform rescues change the squad and offers Webb a change at redemption.

May 25, 1995

After a young boy helps Angel in the rescue of a mechanic at closed Luna Park, he befriends Angel and tries to fix Angel up with his mother. Brian is concerned about an elderly man who is apparently seeking attention with a series of apparant nuisance calls. Mickey tries to help Angel sort out his life after his breakup with Helena.

Jun 1, 1995

A natural gas explosion leaves three people trapped two stories under ground. The squad tries to provide rescue but with time running out, a second gas explosion traps them as well. With a rapidly diminishing air supply and cyanide gas leaking into the cellar, Mickey, unwilling to abandon the trapped workers, disobeys an order from Inspector Adams to leave the scene.

After the rooftop rescue of a child left alone by a single mother, Georgia decides to give the drug addicted woman a second chance and doesn't report the violation to community services. When the mother disappears and is later picked up for theft, the children hide out in a train yard. A driver sues Angel for the damage incurred to his car during a rescue.

Kathy comforts a dying man. After he is given tranquilizers to deal with his pain, he mistakes Kathy for his wife and she must then pass on his last messages to his wife. Georgia revives a drowned swimmer who remains in a coma. Kathy comes to the aid of a pregnant woman trapped in an elevator.

Jun 22, 1995

Called to prevent two suicides, the squad helps arrest a woman and her brother who are BASE jumpers. Later, Mickey, who is intrigued by the pair, tries skydiving with them. A man asks Georgia for a copy of her accident report about an incident at an unsafe factory.

Angel tries to help his friend, a towie, who is suspected of taking money from a bookmaker after he's involved in an accident. Angel rescues a young girl after a fall at an oil depot.

Jul 6, 1995

There's an explosion in a building that's being prepared for demolishing. When Rescue arrives, one of the workers is already dead and the other two are trapped and badly wounded.

Georgia tries to help the daughter of an old friend deal with her brother's death. Angel learns more about his father after his death.

Jul 20, 1995

When Mickey is forced to shoot one of two brothers involved in a violent robbery of a videostore, he becomes the target of the surviving brother who is looking for revenge. When his threats turn into actions and the lives of the squad are put in danger and Mickey is taken off active duty. Angel and Georgia grow closer after he asks her to be his date to a cousin's wedding.

Three new recruits have joined Rescue, but only two can stay, a situation that creates some tension between the three as they compete for the two open spots. Mickey faces a new set of domestic challenges when his sons move in with him.

Mickey tries to get a stubborn old fisherman to stop fishing in a dangerous location; later, Mickey sees a physchiatrist after he suffers a panic attack during a rescue. At school, Tracey helps Luke stands up to the school bullies.

Several members of the squad, especially Angel, are having trouble with new Rescue member Joe whose risk taking and care-free attitude has placed his career in jeopardy. Inspector Adams says he will have to work on his attitude if he wants to stay part of the squad. Bill contemplates retirement after the death of a close friend. Joe's involvement with troubled rescue subject gives him his greatest challenge when she becomes suicidal.

A plane with a father and son crashes in the mountains. A search party is organised but the search is further complicated when Angel becomes lost as well.

There has been an explosion on a ship and several men are trapped. The job of rescuing the injured crewmen is made more difficult when the squad finds evidence of a bomb and find themselves hampered by the threat of additional explosions and a man who is not what he seems.

A brother and sister are climbing a dangerous rock face. When the brother falls, the sister takes on all his weight. Georgia and a local expert climber work to rescue them. Joe and Mickey are diverted to another rescue at the site of a leadership course for corporate workers. Sharyn's coworkers help her celebrate her 21st birthday.

Not long after the Holliman family has won three million dollars in the lottery, their daughter is kidnapped and held for ransom prompting Sydney's entire police service to be mobilised to search for a kidnapped child. Georgia is faced with an important decision.

Nov 8, 1996

After a heroic rescue from the top of Centrepoint Tower, Angel and Tracey arrive at the scene of a car accident to find his brother Con injured and his other brother Paulie dead. The driver of the other car is drunk and cops a beating from Angel. When Internal Affairs gets involved, Tracey and Angel are questioned about the incident but when the man dies in hospital, Angel is arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Nov 22, 1996

Several members of the squad are rethinking their future. Will they stay or leave Rescue? How will it all end? Mickey has the dirty task of rescuing a man from a chimney. Angel is given a sendoff after he is dismissed from the Police Service. The squad races an oncoming storm in their attempt to rescue two children lost in a vast system of stormwater tunnels. Georgia and Alex accept the reality of their relationship. Georgia is farwelled as she transfers out of Rescue to join a youth crime task force. Surrounded by change, Mickey reconsiders his own future at Rescue and resigns.
