The Quest For Everest

Travelling with G Adventures, the first episode sees our journey begin in Beijing where we visit the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, before taking a 2 day train to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, travelling on the highest railway in the world. In Tibet they explore the various monasteries and sites before taking a bus towards Mt Everest. And that's when Chris got really ill...

The second episode sees them arriving in Kathmandu where Chris will be at safe altitude. Joining the backpacking scene we explore the vibrant city. Following this they travel to Pokhara for an action-packed week of ultra-light flying, mountain biking, white water rafting and canyoning before returning to Kathmandu to fly up to Everest.

Karl and Chris return to Nepal to attempt the Everest Base Camp Trek. The 12 day trek is a round trip of 124km, reaching an altitude of 5,545 metres or 18,192 feet. The problem however is that 18 months beforehand, they tried to reach the Tibetan Everest Base Camp only for Chris to be hospitalised for 3 nights with severe altitude sickness. After failing to reach Everest on that trip they return to Nepal to complete their Quest. This is the epic finale to the Quest For Everest trilogy!
