With us at the AZC capture the human stories - the joy and sadness, and also the despair, that are hidden behind the facade of the asylum seekers' center in Zutphen. For a year, the doors opened for us and we followed residents between hope and fear, in their desire for acceptance and a free and safe existence. Employees share their dedication and efforts to make this transition as smooth as possible. An unusual, intimate portrait of very 'ordinary' people, who live together under a glass bell jar.

A young love leads to an uncertain journey for Christian and Zain, away from Syria to an overcrowded tent camp. Sidney's eight-year struggle for a new life in the Netherlands continues. Residential counselors Anne, Karlijn and Davy work with incineration, but avoid conversations outside the AZC to avoid prejudice.

Amir finds joy in a new life at the restaurant 'Thuis bij de Jongens', away from the AZC. Meanwhile, Christian and Zain wait for their crucial IND interview, while Luìs and Hector have to move and live in uncertainty. Mazin finally finds a house in Oss, Akram and Salam receive bad news from the IND, and Sidney awaits his fate with a smile.
