In April 1941 Germans occupied Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and installed a Quisling government. This series, partly based on true events and persons and partly on fiction, covers the activities of the Resistance movement, led by Communists.

The Ustasha begin rounding up Jews, Serbs, and Communists. The most notable ones are imprisoned in the Kerestinec castle. Meanwhile, the communists prepare for war.

Mar 7, 1982
As revenge for the deaths of their comrades, the communists begin killing off notable collaborators. In response, the Ustashe start killing the prisoners in Kerestinec. The resistance plots an escape plan which swiftly goes awry.

A young mechanic is tasked with figuring out how to sabotage the Zagreb general post office. Faced with a time crunch and the arrest of his comrade, he is left to his own devices.

The Germans are looking for Dr Ivo Ribar, a famous retired politician, planning to make him help them keep the peace among the people. However, not wanting to collaborate, Ribar is trying to escape and join his son in the Partisans.

Laufer and his group carry out a successful bombing of a factory and are now awaiting to join the partisans in the woods. However, when one of their members is arrested, they are all in danger of being exposed.

The story of two of Croatia's most prominent poets, the old Vladimir Nazor and the young Ivan Goran Kovacic, who decide to join the Partisans together.

August Cilic is a misanthropic, card-cheating, joke-loving actor. A legend of the theatre, friend to all the state officials and high-ranking Ustasha members. Unbeknownst to them, he's also an indispensable Communist agent.

There's a new Gestapo commandant in Zagreb and he's hell-bent on capturing the Communist commissars. To that end, he launches an investigation that encompasses the entire city and one arrested Communist tortured into submission.

After four Ustasha soldiers contact the Communists with the desire to join their ranks, Seka has to vet them. Meanwhile, a former celebrity goalkeeper is tasked with setting up a radio station in Zagreb.

Galeb, a Communist agent undercover as a clerk in an Ustasha ministry is given the urgent task of copying a top-secret Nazi document. However, after a young man who knows his identity is captured, he only has one day for his mission.

As the chaos of the final days of occupation rages on, Brko Serdar races against time to save as many lives as he can and stop the retreating Ustashe from destroying army and industry centers.
