Reserve editor Susan Ryeland is given an unfinished manuscript by very successful mystery writer Alan Conway including Conway's long time main character, investigative Atticus Pünd. When she attempts to acquire the final phases from Conway, she discovers herself in the middle of a surprising enigma case of her own that will change her life in ways she never ever anticipated.
