Joan Girardi has begun since her family moved into the town of Arcadia, acting a bit strange. No one knows that individuals keep introducing themselves as God, and then giving the teen ager particular directions to do matters. Regardless of what God wants, and when she is even fair, Joan tentatively begins to follow God's cryptic directives, all the while trying to retain a"normal" teen-aged existence.
