Overview
Black?Rock Shooter is a Western press franchise based on figures created by illustrator Ryohei Huke. It revolves around its eponymous character, a mysterious black girl using a blue eye that is blazing . The illustration inspired a song of the same name by super cell, which gained popularity on the Nico Nico Douga site. Yutaka Yamamoto's studio Ordet produced A 50-minute unique video animation based on the franchise, compiled by Nagaru Tanigawa and Shinobu Yoshioka, and headed by Shinobu Yoshioka. A"Pilot Edition" was released on DVD and blu ray Disc in September 2009, before the complete version was released on DVDs bundled together with select newspapers from July 2-4, 2010, subtitled in seven languages, also followed by a retail release on December 17, 2010. An television show aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block between February 3 and March 2-3, 2012. The franchise has spawned also a gaming and several manga series for the PlayStation Portable titled black-rock Shooter: The Game, each.
