Black Publications centers around eccentric bookshop owner Bernard Black and the foul tempered. Bernard's dedication into the twin pleasures of drunkenness and wilful antagonism deepens and enriches his life and his assistant, of Manny. Sweet bearded and good, Manny is all that Bernard isn't and can be penalized by Bernard relentlessly for the crime of existing. They depend on each other as their earliest friend, Fran, is dependent upon them for distraction for significance. Black Books is a haven of books, wine and conversation, the only real threat to this band's peace and prosperity is their own limitless stupidity.
