Banished

At its heart, Banished is really a narrative of survival. While it's set after the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788 at the crude historical reality of the heritage of the penal colony in Australia, it is not the narrative of Australia and also how it came to be. It is a story of romance, religion, religion and morality performed in a community at which the stakes are life and death on an epic scale.
