The life of Jonathan is centered on his son Spencer, who is nine years old, and he has always deferred the major and minor decisions regarding Spencer to his companion Claire. When Jonathan is asked to leave by Claire, he realizes that he does not have a home, any friends, or any goals in life. Except for one: to work toward maintaining his son's happiness despite the fact that his own marriage was ending.
