During Prohibition, the law held the mafia and no power ruled the city. The story occurs in Lawless, a town booming on blackmarket sales of brewed spirits. Avilio returns to Lawless after a time off, following the murder of his family in a mafia dispute there. Avilio receives a letter by a sender that is mysterious, prompting him to come back for revenge to Lawless 1 afternoon. He infiltrates the Vanetti family, the ones responsible for the murder of his family, and puts about befriending the don's son, Nero, to put his vengeance.
