The Boys had its moments, it wasn't perfect but at least, it was engaging. Then along came Gen V. It feels, to this reviewer, more like a basic teenie drama, with a few super hero add ons, than anything else. I found the first episode, unwatchable. Not helped at all by the nasty period blood thing. In summary, a uninspiring teenie drama with a vague super hero vibe. NOTE: I read the other "review", such as it is and yes I did watch part of the first episode, making accurate reference to aspects of that episode. I was pretty clear, why I do not like it, too. I will say TMDB, where's the moderation here?

Don't listen to the MovieGuys review AT ALL. It doesn't even sound like they watched The Boys throughout. If you loved the boys, you will love Gen V. Yes it is a bit disturbing, but so was the boys. You don't watch The Boys or Gen V for clean entertainment. NOTE: Thank you MovieGuys for referencing my "review". You didn't even grasp that I said you didn't watch the Boys throughout. If you did and watched THE BOYS, the "nasty period blood thing" wouldn't have irked you the way it did. If that is what turned you off about the series, then I don't know how you could even make it through the entirety of The Boys. But explains why your average score is a 54%, gotta hate everything I guess. Additionally, the reason why TMDB included my review is because it is a review, I gave my honest review about the show. If you are allowed to, so am I. No moderation needed.

Not as good as the Boys, somewhat more predictable due to the "teenage" college setting and the characters are nowhere near as likable as Hughie, Butcher, Frenchie, MM and Kimiko With that out the way; GenV is a decent enough spin off, it does nothing new nor does it add anything to The Boys universe. But it isn't painful to watch, very much on the fence regarding the want to watch a second season. 6/10

I'm with TwozFlix on this one... I love'The Boys' and after watching 4 episodes of Gen V Season 1, I am glad I'm late starter and season 2 is about to release, so I won't need to wait for it. It's very much in the same vane as The Boys, and has regular cross-references to its characters. The powers of the supers are somewhat bizarre, and quite the mind spin!! But hey, the stories are engaging and are NOT predictable. You see a lot of penises, so it's not for the prudes LOL. It's a great expansion of the 'The Boys' universe and I look forward to continuing the ride!
