Overview

Isabella, the noble York family's daughter, is enrolled in an all-girls academy where she will be molded into a dame deserving of nobility. She has, however, abandoned her future, viewing the elite school as little more than a fortress against the outside world. Her family recognizes her struggle in her education and hires Violet Evergarden to instruct her privately while posing as a handmaiden. Violet is initially treated harshly by Isabella. Violet appears to be able to perform all tasks flawlessly, prompting Isabella to believe she was born with a silver spoon. After a while, Isabella recognizes Violet's own troubles and begins to open up to her. Isabella quickly discloses that she has lost contact with her adored younger sister, whom she longs to see again. Violet, having witnessed the power of words through her previous clients, asks Isabella if she would want to compose a letter to Taylor. Is Violet going to be able to assist Isabella in communicating her feelings to her long-lost sister?
