Ray Owens is sheriff of Sommerton Junction after departing the LAPD after having a bungled operation's silent US border town. Following his escape from the FBI, a notorious drug baronhis group, and a hostage are moving toward Sommerton Junction where the authorities are currently preparing to create a last stand to intercept them until they cross the boundary. Owens is loath to become involved but finally combines in with the law enforcement efforts
