Overview
Saving Mbango is a drama about a young kid named John who becomes the breadwinner for a chaotic family. His stormy and chaotic family history comes in the way of his hopes and ambitions. John falls in love with Mbango, a country girl whose problems dwarf John's. John's entire world becomes even more complicated as a result of this. He's caught between controlling his crazy family and rescuing his true love. He finds himself in a difficult situation, harassed by his harsh and alcoholic father, irresponsible older brother, and cruel unmarried sisters. This film was shot in Mondoni, a rural town in Cameroon's South West region, by multiple award-winning director Nkanya Nwai.
