Overview

Brooke Emerson, a seventeen-year-old beauty and popular figure, is the envy of her peers and even some of her closest friends. Brooke, on the other hand, has never felt more alone in her life, while appearing to have everything. She had been suffering from an unpredictable, sometimes violent wrath since she was injured in a cheerleading stunt the previous year. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder the following year. Even though she does her hardest to maintain her composure, she finds herself in danger of jeopardizing her seemingly ideal life. Brooke doesn't feel like she's found someone who not only understands her, but also accepts her for who she is until she meets Jake, a handsome and charismatic stranger. Whatever the temptation to become swept up in the romance, she can't shake the feeling that something isn't quite right in their relationship. As a result of her best friend's horrible murder, Brooke has no choice but to rely on her newfound love...especially because she is concerned that she might be the perpetrator.
