Overview
Based on André Carl van der Merwe's book, Moffie (a derogatory Afrikaans word for a gay man) follows the narrative of Nicholas van der Swart: from the really young agehe realises he is different. Try as he may, he can't live up to the macho image. At age 19 he's conscripted into the army and finds that his every sensibility offended with a platform close to its own demise, yet still in full force. Set through the border war against communism, it is quite a long over due story concerning the physical and psychological suffering suffered by young men.
