Overview

Loaded American house wife Mary Morgan takes son George was by her for example a visit to Southern Africa, out of school to get home education. Whilst in Mozambique George is obscured by a mosquito that dies and also crawls through a hole in his net of malaria. After his funeral at home Mary feels a compulsion to go back to Africa where she meets with British girl Martha O'Connell,whose son Ben, a teacher having voluntary service overseas,in addition has died of malaria. Ben gave his net one of his pupils,believing malaria can not be caught by adults. Both women are astonished to find that the higher death rate and,Mary petitions the American government to change things whilst Martha remains being a helper. Martha helped by the ex-diplomat dad of Mary and, ends up in Mary's house unannounced,they address a senate committee on health spending. They meet some success though a coda states that more can be done.
