Overview

A universal story about growing up and becoming an adult during hard times. In the foreground, a love story is happening between Józek, a deserter from the Tsar's army who joins the Legions, Ola, an intelligence agent for the I Brigade and a member of the Women's League, and Tadek, her fiance and a member of the Shooting Team. Aside from fictional characters whose stories were based on the lives of real legionnaires, the movie has a lot of historical figures. Brigadier Józef Pilsudski, Lieutenant Stanislaw Kaszubski,aka "King," and a lot of other people were among them. The movie is about the Legion's fights from 1914 to1916, from when they left Oleandry to when they fought at Kosciuchnowka. It shows the most dramatic parts of the legionary epic, like the famous attack of Uhlans at Rokitna, which is one of the most exciting parts of the movie.
