Overview

In ancient China, a love-struck sword warrior struggles against his predetermined path while living thousands of years ago. He yearns for another opportunity to be reunited with the person he cares about, and he is granted that opportunity at a remote location and an ancient era, in the frigid north of the present-day Finland. The events of Jade Warrior take place in China during the early iron age as well as in modern day Finland. The events of the past are influencing how the story is told in the present, gradually illuminating our warrior's true background, his exceptional abilities, and his destined path. The film Jade Warrior, which is Finland's first attempt at making a Kung Fu movie, incorporates elements of both Finnish and Chinese mythology into a single story. An homage to the Kung Fu genre, Jade Warrior is highly spiced with a completely creative approach to the Kalevala, which is the national epic of Finland.
