Overview
Lewis Tater, an Iowa farm lad, aspires to be a famous Western novelist like Zane Grey. He leaves home to attend an on-campus writing correspondence course, only to learn that the school is a row of postboxes at a remote Nevada train depot. Lewis stumbles upon "genuine" cowboys while fleeing the fraudulent artists responsible. The would-be writer soon finds himself playing in Westerns for the Depression-era Hollywood studio Tumbleweed Productions.
