Overview
GUNDA is filmmaking in its purest form, documenting the unfiltered lives of a mother pig, a flock of chickens, and a herd of cows with a level of masterful intimacy. The film is an example of experiential cinema. Through the use of stark, transcendent black and white cinematography and the farm's ambient soundtrack, director Victor Kossakowsky invites the audience to slow down and experience life as his subjects do, taking in their world with a magical patience and an other worldly perspective. This is accomplished in the film "Master." The game GUNDA challenges us to reflect on the unfathomable phenomenon of animal awareness and to evaluate the part that humans plays in that phenomenon. Joaquin Phoenix served as the film's executive producer.
