For the Love of a Child (2006)
Overview
US troops stationed in Asia and later the United States help two actresses start a charity for mixed-race 'orphans' who are treated as outcasts in their own communities because of their mixed-race background. As a result, Childhelp is born. Later, it runs multi-disciplinary centers for children who have been abused or neglected in the United States. They include Jacob Fletcher, whose stepfather, a lawyer, terrorized and abused him until he was in so much pain that he was sent to prison for 10 months. He was released soon after. Staff on the former farm are very good at what they do, and they use animal therapy to help most of Jacob's friends.
