Overview
Danton and Robespierre were close friends and struggled together in the French Revolution, but by 1793 Robespierre had been the ruler, chose to eliminate opposition with a streak of mass executions which became famous as the Reign of Terror of France. Danton, well called a spokesman of those people, had been living in privacy in the French countryside, but call for its people to demand their rights and he returned to Paris to challenge Robespierre rule. Robespierre, nevertheless, couldn't accept this kind of challenge, even by the friend and colleague, and he blocked a plan to the capture and execution of Danton and his own allies.
