Overview
Beyond the Wasteland was shot in Australia, the United States, Italy, France, Germany, and Japan, and it follows fans from all over the world who go to amazing measures in the spirit of Mad Max. We examine the strange world of the fans, their costumes, and their machines as these oddball fanatics find their home amongst the Mad Max society. The documentary also follows original cast member Bertrand Cadart as he fights stage IV leukemia and goes from his home on the Sunshine Coast to the "Wasteland," the desert site of Mad Max 2 in Silverton, for the final time. Beyond the Wasteland not only praises life, but also the power to improve oneself through desire.
