Overview
On the basis of the best selling autobiography by Irish expat Frank McCourt, Angela's Ashes follows the experiences of young Frankie and his family as they try to escape the poverty endemic in the slums of prewar Limerick. The movie opens with your family in Brooklyn, but after a death of one of the sisters of Frankie, they return home, just to find the specific situation there even worse. Despite his having fought for the IRA, Lawsuit against the Northern Irish father of Frankie makes his hunt for job in the Republic difficult, and when he does find money, he spends money on drink.
