For starting a peaceful demonstration for the independence of Korea, the March 1 Movement during Japanese rule, YU Gwan-sun is famous. Undaunted, YU unites her fellow inmates to resist Japan. The security chief senses the resistance, entices an inmate to find out YU Gwan-sun is supporting it, then tortures her. Later, Gwan-sun pretends to comply with the Japanese while.
