Talented and young Han van Meegeren can be a rebel in the early 1920's Amsterdam art-scene. Critics find his work old-fashioned, because he paints in the manner of his Rembrandt and Vermeer plus so they call him a copycat. Merely to prove some point, '' he attempts to pass it off and produces a Vermeer. It works. Rather than embarrassing the art world and showing the facts, '' he continues to make money off of his most forgeries. Soon he is caught in a web of lies and deceit, and his life spins out of control. Then 1 afternoon, high ranking Nazi Hermann Göring cries on his door, looking to get a Vermeer due to his personal group...
