Overview

A surreal and abstract work, WEDNESDAY is a haunting and lyrical portrait of one of the decaying cities in America's industrial heartland. As seen from an ancient and equally decaying rapid transit system as it lurches through the dark and looming masses abandoned steel mills and rusting factories, the film utilizes optical prinitng and other montage techniques to achieve a progressively more distanced abstraction from reality, untill the city's shapes and forms begin to resemble abandoned ruins of some long dead and ancient civilization.
